from us, the duo behind Scéal and Sound. Just one of the marvellous things to come out of Liverpool-based La Violette Società - the pioneering music and arts night with a rich ten year legacy. It shouldn’t have felt radical to have a not-for-profit night of no headliners, equal stage time, and no fee-taking middlemen, and yet it did, and as seasoned gig-lovers we loved the support shown for artists as much as the performances themselves.

When Brendan steered a quickly sold out Violette night in Leamington in June 2025, it affirmed this model could catch on elsewhere. So we decided to bring what we love to where we live and introduce Scéal and Sound. As a nod to Brendan’s heritage and the memories we’ve both built there, we’ve woven pieces of Ireland into our name and purpose, creating evenings where music and stories sit side by side. 

In an effort to make art and creative connection more accessible, we offer suspended tickets to anyone who needs them, helping to make the room as open and welcoming as possible. We’re already blown away at the generosity of our town purchasing these for strangers.

Scéal and Sound is our little contribution to a fairer, more human live event scene - a place for artists to be heard, audiences to discover something new, and stories to be shared. We’re so excited to have you come along and see what it’s all about.
